Is anybody off work this Friday?
This is a very strange request & I'm hoping that some people may be able to help.
My Managing Director passed away last Monday & he was a big biker. He owned an 1800 Goldwing & toured all over (Spain, Norway, Portugal, etc). His daughter has found a guy that has a Motorcycle Hurse & wants as many bikes to ride the route from Englesea Brook Chapel to Crewe Cemetry from 1pm on Friday. I just thought that maybe, if anybody from the org would like to be involved, that would be great. Many thanks for your time Col |

Re: Is anybody off work this Friday?
aww Col.. RIP your boss and friend.
my bike has no mirror so I cant ride it or I wud. now I want to come in the car to see the bike hearse but that is too morbid so I wont. I hope he has a good send off.. what a way to be seen out of this world.. |
Re: Is anybody off work this Friday?
Well, it was one of the best send offs I have ever had the priviledge to be part of & I want to go the same way. Dave's last ride was a great spectacle. About 28 bikes followed the hearse. The 1 thing that did really upset me was the complete lack of respect by other road users for not letting the cortege round a couple of roundabouts.
I even resorted to blocking them on my bike. To the complete pr*ck that tried to force thier way past me on the Sainsbury's roundabout in Nantwich & nearly hit one of the funeral cars, get a life. I didn't think it was morbid Dave, I think its a great way to take your last ride. The Triumph on the left is the one the boss had, it was so cool :) R.I.P. Re: Is anybody off work this Friday?
Hi Col..
I meant it would be morbid on my behalf to turn up not knowin the bloke just cos there was a motorbike Hearse.. glad he had a good send off mate . |
Re: Is anybody off work this Friday?
My father in law passed away in July, and I browsed through the funeral catalogue and a bike hearse was one of the options.
Having seen this I think it reminded me that its a great way to take your last journey. Although I'd turn in my grave if it was a Harley, Trumpets are fine. :riding: |
