GSXR 1000 K7 front end on Pointy?
I'm looking to do the GSXR fron end up grad on my K3 pointy. I've have GSXR front end threads coming out my ears from all the reading i have been doing over the last few weeks:rolleyes:.
I'm looking for a definite answer with regard to putting the K7 Gsxr 1000 front on to my K3. I can get the entire front end for a decent price here, and just want a bit of advice before i plunge in. Had anyone here on the forum done it? What issues if any did you have? Would i be better off holding out for a different model/year Gsxr front end? Any help you huys could give me would be really appriecated. :) |
Re: GSXR 1000 K7 Front end
there is only one i can think of and thats the steering lock is on the opposite side. you might also get fouling of the clipons if you have a fully faired. this all depends of course if you have a 1st gen or second gen bike but i'm presuming that its a second gen as its a K3.

Re: GSXR 1000 K7 Front end
Its a second gen bike.
I would be replacing the clip ons as i do have the fully faired, so i would replace the clip ons. |
Re: GSXR 1000 K7 Front end
just had a quick looky and everything looks sound.stem and bearings should go straight in.
mind and post up pics when your done so wee can all gloat. :-) another thing is you might have to take a wee nick out of the lower fairings at the top where it joins to the upper if you have any as the steering damper mount on the lower yoke fouls it. |
