Anyone with any running issues in cold?
Hi guys, Ive tried the search with no outcome so here i am!
In the last week or so my sv has gone from running fine back to its annoying winter ways. Its a 2000 model and when its below 10 degrees it seems to run very rough and cut out quite frequently after around 15 mins of riding. This mixed with the wet weather today was very interesting with it cutting out almost every time i pulled the clutch in. Any ideas as to the reason for this? Spark plugs are fine, the choke operates fine (and was on at this point) so im abit unsure as to what could be causing it...... Cheers, Ash. |
Re: Anyone with any running issues in cold?
Carb icing?
Assuming its not wet front plug syndrome then its the time of year to put some anti ice additive in. |

It sounds very much like carb icing to me, ah memory's of my old Vauxhall nova (not funny having to park up on the hard shoulder for 5-10 minuets every 10 miles of a motorway jaunt) http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165750 |

Re: Anyone with any running issues in cold?
Carb icing and the idle speed may be too low.
As everyone has said use an additive |
