What a difference a scarf makes!
Hi guys, just a recommendation here really.
I was at the bike shop the other day and I treated myself to one of these: http://www.rocketclothing.co.uk/imag...s_hot_hood.jpg It's a ColdKiller balaclava. I've been using it for the last few days on my journey to work but tonight I didn't bother putting it on. What a difference! The commute is less than 10 mins, and when I got to work my neck and chin was freezing. The ColdKiller is comfortable, waterproof, windproof etc and for 15 quid it's well worth it, 100% recommended! Also worth mentioning the amount of NOISE it keeps out, I thought I was on a different bike tonight with the roar of the exhaust...or maybe I have a problem I need to look at  Anyway...Go out and get one! |

Just be careful with your lid, as this will make your head significantly bigger, when you get rid of it in spring you've have a loose lid!

You don't have to get a full balaclava, I have one like this
http://www.urimoto.es/catalog/images...K%20WARMER.jpg Coldkillers stuff really is the most amazing material, even sitting on the motorway in the spray from lorries, in icy temperatures, this neck scarf has kept me warm and dry when my gloves have long since given up trying. It's still going strong after 4 years of use. |

I use the cold killas bank robber neck tube thingy, it is top notch, i am gonna get the full fat version though, just in case i buy a mx lid.

Also, I find it keeps my increasingly balding head nice and snug! :-) |
Re: What a difference a scarf makes!
i currently use a 'buff' neck thing, thin but keeps a little chill out!
No problem with the slipping down thing... my hair is cut weekly to a grade 0 on the clippers so the buff kinda sticks to my head like velcro! :p |

A scarf made a lot of difference for Grinch and one of his pictures ;)

I've never had a problem with the cold killer slipping. Occasionally you feel a draft round your hairline at the back and have to tuck it into the lid at the back, but once done it stays there.
