Advice on selling reclaimed roof slates
My Dad has tasked me with selling approx 750 reclaimed 10x8 slates that he has sitting in his back garden.
Any thoughts on how to get shot of them and what they might be worth? I usually move my unwanted junk on via fleabay but I'm not convinced this is one for them. |
Re: Advice on selling reclaimed roof slates
Find your local building materials salvage yard and see what they charge, to judge if it's worth a great deal of effort, see what they would offer you for them as a job lot.

Thats freaking awesome! All eBay/Craigslist listings should be made to be like that.

Skeetly would also have a valid opinion I think, he does a lot of restoration work. Not sure how often he comes on here these days. You might make enquiries as to what house they came from and see if you can find out which area / quarry they came from, that would help anyone looking to restore / repair a roof with weathered slate that needs to match something already on it. |
Re: Advice on selling reclaimed roof slates
I've checked with a salvage company. They're worth max 20p a tile but they'll give me a tiny fraction of that to pick them up.
I'll stick them on ebay with a big discount and see if they go. I caught klu's post in time, so I know how to word the add. ;) Thanks all. |
