Essex lounge

----------R.I.P.--------------
the most defunct section on this forum, who come up with the best excuses for non attendance to anything, that is if anything is organised and the last poster in 3 weeks doesn't even live in Essex.I have been deliberately not posting anything to see what the outcome was and the answer is zilch. It appears people have more interest in other sections than their own and by that I mean other sites not just this forum.
Perhaps people have lost interest or been upset by attitudes so if that is the case why don't we save computer space and just delete this section.
EAR is just up the road and as Essex is in East Anglia why not consolidate the two?

Re: Essex lounge

I have organised them in the past but as I am not,nor want to be the source of more animosity I haven't put any suggestions forward.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COME UP WITH SOMETHING BUT IT IS VERY SHORT NOTICE
so don't be surprised if it is a poor responce,or amalgamate with AER as they seem low on numbers

Well I have no objection to it - but by the same token - it is "that time of the year" when people hibernate and posting goes down and people are less willing to venture out to rideouts/meets etc.

Where are Supervox and Messie when you need them?!

Sorry, haven't been online too much this week - VERY busy with work :-(

Whilst it's true that The Essex lounge certainly isn't the busiest around the forum the 'blame' can't be laid at the feet of 1 or 2 individuals - we all make what use of it we like !

Personally, I'm not one for posting for the sake of it - or just to raise my post count ! If I have something to say or to share then I'll put it up - if I have nothing positive to add to a current thread then I stay out of it. I haven't joined many rideouts this year because I haven't fancied the route or destination on offer - equally, when I've posted my rideout plans not many Loungers have responded - I guess for the same reason.

As for people using other sites instead of this forum - what has that got to do with anything ?

Personally, I'd say leave things as they are - it's there if we want it & not hurting anyone if it remains quiet - but if anyone has really strong feelings about it then I'd suggest that they contact Admin or Fizz and voice their concerns/frustrations/ideas etc as a topic to be discussed in the Mod forum.

Re: Essex lounge

I agree with Supervox and Skip.
It's a cold and quiet time of year, and people only post when there's a community spirit and they feel they have something to say.

I think this quiet little corner of the world will just survive on tick over for a few weeks but I do have a strong suspicion that it could roar back to life in the Spring. Rumblings of plans have been heard ;)

So sit tight, keep warm and be patient. As the days get longer so the Essex Lounge will warm up.

And don't forget to wear your bedsocks!
