What a load of crap
Well I ordered the bits for my new PC build, I'd already bought the barebones PC tower, but now funds allowed me to buy the bits that go inside, hard drive, OS, Blu ray drive, graphics card etc.
So I get the tracking notice from Aria where I'd ordered from 6/12 goods collected from Aria 6/12 goods at depot 7/12 06:40hrs Goods loaded onto van for delivery 7/12 20:40hrs Goods returned to depot 8/12 06:40 Goods loaded onto van for delivery 8/12 20:17 Goods returned to depot No card through the door, so no attempt at delivery either day. So I call City Link and ask where my parcel is and when its goig to be delivered, as wife has been in to accept delivery both days Polite lady phoned depot and explained that because of the weather there was a backlog of deliveries. Fair enough, but we've got no snow or problems like that round here. So WHY put it on the van two days running, if its not going to get delivered! Then said she can't tell me when my parcel is going to be delivered. If it doiesn't get put on the van by 11 today it won't be going out for delivery today If it didn't get delivered, why doesn't it get priority the following day, instead of getting bumped of the delivery schedule completely If I lived in Scotland with their current weather I'd understand Its complete and utter carp :evil::evil: |
Re: What a load of crap
because the vans go the same route each day, if like me urs is the end of the delivery the back log at the beging of the round means they run out of hours before they get to you..
I actually met the driver elsewhere to get my new phone because it was already 4 days late. |
Re: What a load of crap
Yep Alex, I'm a the end of the round.
The depot is in Newmarket, I'm in Felixstowe  |
Re: What a load of crap
There's a simple fix for this. On odd days start at one end of the round, on even days start at the other end. That does mean the guys loading the vans need to stack stuff appropriately for odds & evens.

Contact Aria, failed delivery - goods not arrived.
get them to either get the good delivered on a priority or refund you delivery costs. Distance selling regulations are a key part to play as the contract for delivery is with aria and not you therefore you cant be expected to chase c(sh)itylink. |

I'd want the vans equipped with some nice polypropylene crates with wipe-clean end panels to protect the contents and give the drivers some chance of finding items without chucking everything else all over the van. I'd also ban the game of 'fragile football' which is the only possible explanation for the state of some deliveries. |
Re: What a load of crap
I'm sure we've had this discussion before. The drivers will be working their backsides off trying to catch up with deliveries/collections that were delayed by the snow but it's the managers etc that need to be putting on extra vans especially this time of year not just expecting the drivers to be putting in 14-16 hour days to get the work done. I've been there and done that job it's not fun and you're not their only delivery.
