Ticking Noise(again,sorry)

I have searched everywhere but none of the topics relates to mine,as in when you switch the bike off after a ride the engine ticks when the engine is cooling down (cars do it also) so Im not too worried about that but it does that noise when idling. It is a tick but only like every 2 seconds and it comes and goes.
Should I be worried ,bike runs fine otherwise.

Thanks and sorry for asking stupid questions

well if it does it when turned of mate just sounds like everything cooling down, it tends to be the exhaust cooling that causes it.

If the engine and brakes aren't ticking when you switch off then you've not been trying hard enough. :)

In terms of the noise you're getting while idling, it's gonna be impossible to tell you over t'internet if that's something to worry about or not. What's the service history like on the bike?

These engines do tend to produce a bit of ticking and clicking. Mine has a few but you can only hear them at tickover and you have to listen for them. I wouldn't be worried about mine unless it suddenly changed or got louder. I can't say that applies to you though - YMMV.

Have you had a listen to some other SV's? That might give you a bit more of an indication if what you're hearing is "normal".

If you can satisfy your concerns that way then just make sure it's serviced properly and get some earplugs. :D

+1 For the paranoia when first getting the sv. I was forever hearing new noises and worrying. Now i think the sv is immortal, they can take a lot of abuse you no.
The sounds your describing seem to me like the exhaust/engine heating up and expanding when warming up and similarly cooling down.
Get a loud end can to mask the noises, works a treat :D

Nope, you put "(again, sorry)" in the title, so I don't think you are missing anything ;)
