The Skiing Thread
 

Well it's that time of year and as there are running and cycling threads I thought a skiing thread was in order.

I off on my first skiing holiday in a few days, Christmas in the Alps. Plan is learn to ski then break a bone on the last day so I get 6 weeks off work.

I would say its brilliant, but day time TV is utter sh*te, I was glad to go back to work in the end !

if only my work didnt exclude skiing, boarding and motorcycling from my sick pay!!!!

Couldn't agree more. I was stuck at home due to no train service for a couple of days and felt like I was going mad!

Used to go skiing every year. Not been for a long time though. Doubt I'll go again really.

Still got to book up, will do a week or two, mainly guided off piste skiing, probably in France. Plus a long weekend in early April with the lads from school in Bulgaria, a dash of skiing in between beers.

I tried my hand at snowboarding a couple of weeks ago while attending a wedding in Austria.

Probably didn't go about it the right way, rented a board, got a lift pass, went to the top of a pretty steep run and proceeded to fall over and hurt my back.

Only managed 4 runs before I was in so much pain I had to call it a day.

Will prob get some lessons before I try it again.
