Don't get me wrong, I like the sound of her voice and her version of Elton John's song, but do you orger's think that shifting it from the male persona to the female persona (and view point) changes its message or perhaps works as a reflection of our changing views on society today?

It's quite bad. I'm not a huge Elton John fan but appreciate his stuff. The bit when she says "If I was a sculptor, but then again no" makes me cringe

The male to female thing doesn't make much difference to the meaning for me

TBH mate, havent got a clue what you're asking, i like the song and her, dont really get the message you think might be there :confused:.
Just listen to it for what it is, a cover version of a good song.

Im not a Elton Jon fan btw, respect his music but cant stand him.

I like it, it's a cover and not trying to accurately emulate the original. What you have to ask is this - if this had been the original version, would you be saying Elton John had wrecked it and made it too camp?

Btw - I hate Greg James for being her bloke. She's cute in a non-perfect normal girl next door way - I like that. Perfection is over-rated, I know because I've had to live with my own for far too long now :-)
