My god so gutted about this. I knew that Mick Karn had been ill with cancer for while but this is still a big shock. Have been a huge fan of his for a long time. The man and his Wal bass had a sound of it's own. :-(

Sad loss on both accounts, Gerry Rafferty is still one of the icons of the 70's I regularly listen to, as for Mick Karn, being a fellow greek I followed his music with a passion from his early days with Japan right through to his collaborations with Pete Murphy ala Dalis Car then on through his Solo work.

It says in that article that he died in Dorset. Not so - he died at his daughter's home in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Not that it makes any difference. I had the very great pleasure of meeting him the night before he died.

A very, very sad loss to the musical world.
