Re: Europe on a Vanvan.
Respect to these guys. :smt023After spending a day riding a VanVan on my CBT - I was in bloody agony, so riding over the alps!!!!
Would be OK for shorties but at 6'2'' these bikes are seriously uncomfy. Makes an SV feel like armchair. |
Re: Europe on a Vanvan.
There was something about this in the MCN over the summer, and they are meant to be a hoot off road.
I'm thinking about something like a vanvan for greenlaning or building one of these. Grand plus bike should make a KTM LC4 Duke hunter http://future-motorcycles.com/gp-design-suzuki-gladius/ http://future-motorcycles.com/wp-con...ki-Gladius.jpg |
Re: Europe on a Vanvan.
I did a small tour round the Grenoble/Alpe d'Huez/Galibier region in Sept 2009. It's off season so the roads were more or less empty and the weather was fabulous. I wanted to do a circuit of some of the tour-de-France climbs and passes.
Brilliant area, something for everyone, but highly weather dependent. It's fairly easy reach from Calais, and worth a tour round the Jura on the way. Highly recommended out of season. If camping, do a little homework first as some sites are pretty expensive round there, high forfaits are quite common (minimum price per night regardless of number of people etc). |
Re: Europe on a Vanvan.
A great trip report. Would an Sv with pirrelli scorpions or equivalent tyres be ok for those trails you think?

Re: Europe on a Vanvan.
Great thread. Did my test a couple of years ago on a vanvan. Was a cool bike I though. Bit slow like most 125's but cool :)
