keith_d checks out the icy tarmac up close
Yep, it's my turn for a slide down the road today after meeting a patch of black ice. I'm fine, but the VFR wouldn't start. Though, it worked fine when the AA man jump started it. Maybe time for a new battery.
Damage was minor, shared between the pannier rack, the engine housing and the faring. Lots more scrapes on the faring so I'll be saving up for a paint job. While I was waiting for Mr AA, two cars decided the hedge was much nicer than the road, and two more decided to meet with a crunch. Final Score: Black Ice-5, Injuries-0. Keith. |

Re: keith_d checks out the icy tarmac up close
I had that experience yesterday, but my superior bike handling skills:D saved the day and the bike stayed upright. Just as well as I was in a fairly remote lane with nobody else around, there was a deep ditch full of icy water, and I didn't have my mobile with me. Horrible feeling when the bike suddenly starts sliding around. Glad you're OK.
