Chris8886 update

I thought I would start a new thread to save those wanting an update scrolling through lots of pages.

Chris is still very confused and does not really understand what has happened to him or why he cannot just get up and go home - but he did manage to have a chat on the phone with his sister and is communicating with his two friends and his parents.

The nurses have reduced his heart and brain medication a little but he does still have a bit of fever and they are not sure why at present.

There is a meeting with the hospital and insurance company specialists tomorrow and at that stage we will know more. They should be able to advise when Chris can come home, although this may be weeks rather than days away yet.

His Dad says that he looks like Cesc Fabregas as he is now sporting spikey hair and four days of stubble!

Working out the timings I think it's possible that he collapsed just before the end of the Ashes after managing to catch most of the matches in very remote areas. And even if he did see it, it sounds like he won't remember it (I hear Ponting is trying to wipe the whole series from his memory too). I am going to ring my contacts at Sky Sports and ask them to supply me with a DVD so that when he does eventually come home he can enjoy the joyous moment when England thrashed the Aussies which will cheer him up! :D

I will post a further update tomorrow when I hear from his Mum again.

Great news!

If the nurses shave him I hope the language barrier doesn't lead to a Bar Mitzvah!!
