Rear suspension adjustment mechanisms
 

Are there rear shocks with easier ways to a adjust, than having to use a bloody C spanner. Im too light to leave it on full, the back wheel seams to leap of the ground at any givien oppotunity on max, which is rather fun, but not when its wet!

Adjusting the bloody thing after pillioning takes forvever as the hugger gets in the way.

Penske you use a bar in a collar, very easy 'cos they give you an acme style thread rather than normal one too.

Many shocks offer hydraulic adjusters too.

Not looking to sound rude! Do you consider them to be the best money can buy? :s

With the amount of race-bikes with ohlins on i would have thought they were better?

Sorry if that sounds rude...just wondering as it comes up in every spring thread!

I have no connection with them, I don't sell them except when I get second hand ones. I like the fact that they're modular, simple to work on, they work, come with a good setup straight out of the box, have service centers who will actually talk to you without you spending millions first, you can get parts.

Need more reasons lol, yes I think they're the best money can buy.

For some other bikes other manufacturers sell better out of the box shocks... BUT for the SV especially curvy there is not another near as good.

Take my usual example of ohlins, it is well known that SV is undersprung at rear. So WHY does the ohlins come with the same spring rate as stock?

That Ohlins examples a bit strange? :S Surely thats them just saying the equivalent Ohlins part to stock is the one with the same spring rate and trust that their part will offer better suspense? lol

If you are about to spend £600 what would you rather have?

Ohlins can be very good when modified from stock form, Steve Jordans etc. prove that but if you want one to work as you actually buy it...

Thank you all.

I was thinking more along the lines of finding one from another model bike. I'm not wasting 100s on an sv. I have seen the list of ones that will fit not sure what the number after the # is though. Looks pretty much like they all have the c spanner adjuster on top.

I think ill just modify a spanner, or weld something on :D

Pretty much all have C spanner adjusters
The # is pounds per inch (spring rate)
