Cutting down exhaust and back pressure

Hello all,
Does anybody know how short an exhaust can be on a pointy sv? i'd like to cut down the GForce end can i have but i don't really understand the back pressure issue, any light shed on this subject would also be interesting. Thank you

as was mine. went and sounded sweet. the FI just corrects the fuleing according to what is on the bike to a degree but can only go so far untill somthing like a power comander is needed. but for road use this isnt needed.
cut it down and have some fun :)

You'll lose a little bit of mid range torque.

Thanks for replying, I thought cutting to short would be an issue for some reason, I want to go down to about 2/3 standard size.

This seems to run fine and sounds v. nice, probably about half the original size.
