Anyone an Itunes genius?
I bought a TV series from Itunes. All of the episodes downloaded except one (episode 5).
I've reported the problem to apple and they just keep telling me to check my download settings and try this and that etc. etc. As far as I can see it can't be a problem at my end or the others wouldn't have downloaded. The file is there, but only shows as 1kb - and then a pop up says it seems to be corrupt. Any suggestions?> |
Re: Anyone an Itunes genius?
i dont buy from itunes i convert the files myself and add them to my ipod, you can get the program for free on the internet you want to be able to convert to mp4, then go to the itunes menu and add folder or file to library.
this doesnt help your current prob but makes it cheaper in the future. if you cant find a prog or need help inbox me and ill talk you through it |
If you download off iTunes can you not download it again free of charge seeming as you have downloaded it already? Which would mean you can use apple as a kind of backup?
If so, delete an re-download. Otherwise, look in to torrent downloading, I've been doing it for years and haven't bought a cd, DVD or anything for the last 8 years apart from Gavin and Stacey boxset which is awesome! Oh and yes, torrent downloading is illegal, but who cares. I suppose Simon Cowell cares actually.. |
Re: Anyone an Itunes genius?
Tad of a derail but wasnt there a massive thing into torrents where internet providers monitored your activity with torrents and passed on details to the law to clamp down? I heard rumours about it and stopped immediatly, real shame as theres tons of stuff i wanna download. You still doing it alright?
As for the iTunes thing, it looks like you have already purchased it so therefore you can (in theory) download it again, i would give it a shot at deleting and re-downloading as mentioned above. BUT BEFORE YOU DO look up your problem on some actual itunes forums or search your problem through google and see what comes up first. I dont wanna advise you and then end up being wrong and then you have to buy it again. Im just guessing with stuff here. I think that with apps for the iPhone and other gadgets that once youve bought it, you can re-download them if you were to loose them. So in a way, you have a back-up by just being able to download it again. |
Re: Anyone an Itunes genius?
Yeah, it's still there in the download list, because it hasn't downloaded. But everytime I try the file is tiny and says its corrupt.
I'm thinking it must be a problem with the source, but try telling apple that.... |
Re: Anyone an Itunes genius?
I would just explain that it keeps saying the file is corrupt or see if they will allow you to buy the product again on its own and see if it will download then...

Ive never heard anything from
My ISP with regards rid illegal downloading, your ISP will write you a letter first before they cut you off... If it's still in the download bar then the file is corrupt because it's not complete, can you not right click on the file in the download bar and select 'start' or 'resume'? |
Re: Anyone an Itunes genius?

You could try going into your itunes library and deleting just that 1 1kb downloaded file and then start the download again. |
Re: Anyone an Itunes genius?
Yep I am.
I spotted it for the PITA it is and avoid it like the plague it is. My advice - get something that doesn't rely on stupidly restrictive DRM. If Kawondazuki brought out the best bike ever but it would only run on Shell Ultra Unleaded and could only be serviced by Kawondazuki - would you buy it? |
