Re: Reusing nuts

For the sake of a few quid, why not just buy some new ones?

Re: Reusing nuts

I reuse just about everything, but then I've been doing this a while and feel pretty confident in assessing components for wear.

If you are unsure, the safest course of action is to replace all items when working on them if recomended.
However, that does tend to add up and in a lot of cases you'd be every bit as safe with the old component.

Clear as mud?

Re: Reusing nuts

re use away.
only bolts not to reuse are tension or stretch bolts on cylinder heads and such like.

bog standard nyloc nuts from memory which are fine for reuse a few times before new are need, think about how many billions of bolts a garage would have to a. buy and b. chuck if all bolts were single use on things like suspension.

Re: Reusing suspension linkage nuts?

I'd be quite happy to re-use them provided they're torqued up to the right level. Invest in a torque wrench if you don't have one - It will make you happy ;)
