From looking at a curvy. How would you tell if its full power or restricted? Or whats the easiest way to tell by taking least amount of parts off?

Hello mate.

Just want to get things straight.

You have a curvy sv650 correct? (aka 99-02 model)
You want to restrict to 33bhp from full power?
You want the part that goes in the carburetor?

That would be part 6: Valve piston here CLICK

If so i have my old ones ill sell you them cheap cost me £40+ postage. I did use them so if I give them to you £20 posted? Seeing as you are a member of the org!

just by looking at them you cant. mines a curvy and restricted. it doesnt rev up to 9,000 like they should, it hits 7,500 and it tops out at 90 but i've had 100 with a tail wind :)

to look at the retrictors on a curvy you do this;

take off small panels under the front seat
then front seat off
front tank bolts off
lift tank up and put somthing in like a hammer to hold it up
take the airbox off
undo throttle cables( you might not have to but i do)
undo the hose clamp things under the carbs and then pull thenm off a bit(be careful becasue there are still fuel lines attached)

thats the easiest way that i no on how to do it. any questions just ask :)
