Van Hire Woes
Just rang EasyVan, got a quote for a lwb transit for 2 days so I can bring the Kwak back up from Hampshire, told the guy it was for a bike etc, £78 from a company called norhgate.
Cue a phone call to northgate to be told they aren't covered to rent vans to carry things that 'might contain fuel'. Hmmm so why did easyvan say you would? I dunno. Oh right, just out of interest how much do you charge for a lwb transit for the weekend? £120. What?! Why? It's cheaper on the Internet. Brilliant. The world has gone mad. |
Re: Van Hire Woes
Don't tell them what you're carrying, if they ask it's a settee with bigger than normal wheels.

Re: Van Hire Woes
+1 just tell them it's for your house contents. That's what will be covered and unless it says clearly in the paperwork that you can't carry anything that may contain fuel, you're covered. I've had this before and found out that while the actual hire company may not cover it, the agent company, if they don't inform you of the terms or restrictions then are responsible should anything happen.

Re: Van Hire Woes
nice one i'll give it a go, if there's a news article about an employee being stabbed to death at northgate vehicle rental in wakefield over the weekend, something went amiss...

Re: Van Hire Woes
I hired a van once. It had a radio but the reception was very poor so I had to adjust the aerial. A couple of days later I developed a very nasty rash on my hands which soon spread up my arms to my upper body. I went to the doctor. He had a look at me then said " that's the worst case of van aerial desease I have ever seen".

Re: Van Hire Woes
Well after paying my 98 quid online and taking a million forms of id they then said... Can't insure you due to dr10 etc.. Cheers fellas!
To add further insult to injury apparently I am not eligible for a refund because I broke a contract and didnt fully read the terms on conditions, bumders., |
