Frivolous hair quezzie

At the risk of getting a lot of stick...:D

My hair has grown quite long and it needs a chop. Ideally I'd shave the lot off, particularly as on top it's quite thin. But as I'm going to be giving a lot of talks over the next few months and visiting law firms, I need to look presentable. However I want an edge and I don't want to look like another boring stuffy lawyer.

So. Should I shave it? Should I just have it tidied up, or something in between, I'd thought of shorter on the sides and back? Is a grade 0/1 acceptable? What would you think if someone with a shaved head walked into your office, particularly if they're trying to sell you something?

personally i have always thought people with beards have something to hide. Go with whatever make you feel confident infront of your clients

No 1 all over here Ed.

I know an FD of a £800m/year turn over business with a shave head (Oh he is a biker as well).

To be honest, a shaved head simply means you pay attention to your personal grooming. It doesn't make you a thug or fly by night shyster. I had an interview for the position I start on Monday down to the bone but in a suit.

Ed - I need a picture! I don't think I've ever seen you with hair.

FWIW I think you look fine with a grade 0/1 and I certainly would not be put off using you professionally (and by extension, buying from you) if you came to my place of business with that hair cut. As long as you are smart, clean and tidy that is it as far as I'm concerned, I'll know when you open your mouth if I want to buy your service.

Wouldnt bother me. Theres more to somebody than their appearance and I've learned over the years not to judge a book by its cover.

I've just gone from a full on mullet, literally the longest I have ever had my hair to a grade 1.5 all over.

I have to deal with my clients on €2.2bn+ projects... my hair is the least of their worries.

How many people in the industry are shiny domes?

Conform to the norm for the industry.

Personally I couldn't give a monkey's what you look like... no pink off the shoulder dresses please...

either 1 back and sides 2 on top faded in or a zero aka bic'ed
ps a lot of people i know agree with the beard thing either untrustworthy or if overly prune someone that could be hard to work with ocd/ poser etc
