MOT advice - Euro spec lights.

my bike passed its mot yesterday..... i think

i went to pick it up and the lights were masking taped up, they did this because they discovered that it has a continental headlight, so have issued the mot certificate with an advisory saying no lights fitted. i queried if i drive at night will i be illegal, i got told no because the certificate is only as up to date as the time it was issued and i wouldnt have any probs because when i remove the masking tape i have lights.

just wondering on a producer issued to me at night (if i get one) and also if i have an accident at night

Re: MOT

just rotate the lens so it points the other way. or put a triangle in to stop the glare to on coming traffic.

Re: MOT

cant do it, its a projector lense, i asked that same question, apparently you can spend ages taking it all apart and turning something around and drilling it in place and then hopefully it will go back together

Re: MOT

sounds to me like you got a daytime mot, so no you couldnt ride it at night, something sounds fishy

Re: MOT

i asked and got told that if i fit lights then its still legal to ride at night

I'd be PM'ing the above mentioned

you've been issued a daylight because of the euro headlights
You'd be done and insurance void if caught headlights or not at night

Re: MOT

even if after issue i was to "put" headlights on the bike?

i have pm'd them too

Re: MOT

yep as you have a daylight MOT, you'll need a re-test (i think) to remove the advisory, but Spannerman will be able to clarify that
