Cheeky blighters these insurance companies

Rang A quote insurance the day before yesterday to cancel my insurance renewal (it finishes on 29th March) on Custard.
Had a letter of confirmation from them stating that my insurance is now cancelled as of the 9th March 2011. The cheeky devils have knicked 3 weeks insurance off me. Good job I have the other bike, or I would be snookered.

But have you lost a years no claims because of early termination?

I had no problems with leaving A-quote but maybe it is down to terminology. I did not say I wish to cancel. I told them I would not be renewing the policy at the end of its term.

I'd phone them and say you only cancelled the policy renewal which was from termination of the policy, and did not cancel from the day you phoned them and either want the policy reinstated from the 9th to the end date or want money in lieu of the remainder of the policy.

Daryl.

Did think about it, but can't really be bothered now. I just think it's a bit naughty to terminate straight away.

Naughty definately, and it means you don't add another year no claims to yourself, still may be worth a phone call to them.

They are cheeky, cost me £35 "admin charge" to add my dad as a named rider to my policy. Premium was only £90.
