My question what is the required UK legal distance between indicators?

Rear indicator
Amber
2 or 4 max
Height as front
Min distance apart 180mm
Max 300mm from rear

Thats about 8"

A standard numberplate is 9" so if they would not be on either side of the plate, they are too close.

However as said above, add a set of mini indis on a bracket at the bottom of the plate and you should be good.
