Second hand camera wanted

Anyone want to sell me their unwanted camera?

I'm looking for something for darling daughter and she says it must be digital and at least 10 megapixels. She also wants to be able to buy additional lenses to upgrade in time. Neither of us are proper photgraphers but we know we want something more than point and press.

Looking at spending around £100.

Can anyone help?

Not sure the budget will get you the spec you want Messie. If you can push up to £180ish you can get a great 2nd hand dslr. I got a Sony A200 for that and its great.

I know not exactly what you've described but these are a bit more than "point and press"

Unfortunately gone up £16 this week...but still near £100

Edit: the price is going up & down all the time! It's dropped to £113 since I posted that.

Like said I think £100 is pushing it if you want a DSLR camera (i.e. something with changeable lenses), especially a 10MP one...the fujifilm camera linked above it not a DSLR and new lenses are not a possibility btw

Is there room for negotiation?

Sal, a bridge camera is good as people have pointed out. Getting a DSLR for £100 ecen second hand is probably impossible. There are plenty of Compacts out there for your budget also, that have decent zoom etc. Have a serch for Panasonic TZ series. I have a TZ7 which has a 25/300mm capable lens and takes stunning pics. However if darling daughter requires a SLR type feel, then a Bridge camera is the best path to take.

That Fujifilm S1600 here is Under £110

Mmm OK - I didn't know it was a DSLR that I wanted.
Viney - what's a 'bridge' camera?
Kaivalagi - there may be ....

A DSLR is a pro sort of camera with changeable lenses etc.
A bridge camera is the bridge between a point & snap camera and a DSLR (like the high zoom sort of camera I linked)

Have a look at the nikon d40, it's only 6mp which means unless you print Bigger than A4 you won't need more pixels, in fact many prefer the 6mp imagines too the 10mp prints of the d40x (it's bigger brother)

DSLR will give you the lens changing ability that your daughter wants.

A bridge camera is in between a compact and a DSLR i.e. you get some techie stuff on the bridge camera so you can control what the camera is doing alot more. Where as on a compact you just point and shoot. I think that some bridge cameras do give lens changing ability though.

Also dont get hung up on megapixels if you are looking at DSLR's.
