Disabling parking light?
Hi all
What a potential nightmare today could have been. Pulled up at client site, got off bike, left parking light on by mistake (one extra click past steering lock). Mobile dead as a doornail, and bike with flat battery. Everyone had left. Was just sitting there aimlessly wondering what to do when a random passerby offered a bump start! Is there any quick and easy way of disabling this so I dont get caught out again? Reckon the 25 mile ride home was sufficient to recharge the battery so it starts tomorrow morning? |
Re: Disable parking light

Re: Disable parking light
Replace tail light and side light with LEDs, much less current draw.

I know the obvious answer is to not do it, but then its not exactly intentional. In the time I have owned the bike this is only the 2nd time I have even used this "feature". Now I have done it once I'll be a lot more careful no doubt, but I;d like to eliminate the possiblity of a relapse altogether. Beab, let me know how you get on! |
Re: Disable parking light
Ok. Looking at the diagrams you cant cut any wires, they are used in the ignition ON' position too. That is my interpretation anyway.
Does the ignition barrel come apart? could stop it there. |
