Little bit of help regarding sat nav mount

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_1481wt_905

This mount includes fittings to permit use on handlebar diameters to 1.25 inches.

Can anyone tell me if there is a bar on the sv650s 2003 that is 1.25 inch diameter?

I have nothing i can use to measure.

Thanks

A better RAM mount is the one most folk on here recommend. Plus you don't have to worry about what handlebar size you need

Plus its cheaper than your EBAY one I think

All you need to ensure is your top yoke nut has a hole in it. I've got one and its great, £27 I think

Give Rob a call and he'll sort one out for you.

I can vouch for the above, I have a TomTom 530, one of the widescreen car types and have mounted it with the following on a pointy:
telferizer ram mount for the top yoke - http://www.telferizer.com/prods.html
replacement top yoke nut with breather hole (to fit telferizer) - http://www.tastynuts.com/Products/0001000b004f0024
waterproof case with ram mount arm for various sat navs - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RAM-Bike-Mount...-/120691397187

So far so good, I've been in a down pour once with no issues but to be fair I really need to give it some time before I can highly recommend it...the ram mount side of things though is fantastic and will have other uses I am sure such as cameras etc too

You'll need to find someone with a 32mm spanner too!

I'm using exactly the same thing myself from http://www.telferizer.com/index.asp
All you need to do is unscrew the top yoke nut and attach this to it! Then tighten back up and jobs a good 'un!

Not all SV's come with a yoke nut that has a breather hole, I had to buy one...just a word of warning to any potential telferizering :)

As Maviczap has said, best speaking to Rob on the phone, he is a sound bloke and will set you right, not just with the ram mount fitting to the bike but all the other potential bits you might want to connecting various types of sat nav/cameras etc etc...

How good are these central mounts when using a tank bag? Do you need an extension arm to move the sat nav left or right?

+1 Had one of these on the Blade. I didn't want to pay £27 for it but I did in the end and it was well worth it

no, i didn't need one, as the RAM mount extends mine high enough to see it over the tank bag. Its just below the clocks in my field of vision.

Although it doesn't look like it can be seen, once I've adjusted it, I can easily see it over the tank bag, if not stick it in the top of your tank bag, if its got a clear pocket at the top?
