SV1000. Better to sell in bits, or whole?

I bought an SV1000 a few weeks ago, but have decided that I can only ride 1 bike at a time & would like to spend some money on Custard to make her look nice again.

Would I make more by breaking the 1000, or selling it whole?

Just to add that I know I bought it extremely cheap in the 1st place & I won't be silly enough to let it go at the price I paid as I know it's worth a lot more.

at the price you paid for that bike I'd say as a whole.

Whats wrong with it?

Not a lot really. It has been used year round, so a bit rusty in places, has it's bit of crash damage & alternator cover is leaking slightly, but I cover 200 miles a week & at low 30s to the gallon it's going to cost me a fortune to run.
Now that the Triumph seems to be running ok I am going to use that & do my 650 up as it's had 3 years of abuse & not much love :)

sell it in one piece mate

and use the proceeds so that custard has an accident with a workshop and GSXR parts

Poo gets a reprieve then! :D

I'd say sell as a complete bike too, will be quicker and easier to shift.

Depends how much time and money you want from it. Sell it in one piece and you can get shot and make a quick buck or two. Probably get more for the bits but may end up saddled with a few spares.

You must be making good progress to get low 30s out of the sv1000. I'm getting around 100 -110 before the light comes on and between 43- 53 mpg. Thats the reason why I'm captain slow. :)

I knew it would happen as soon as I rode it Mike. The engine is a peach & I quite like the handling, it's just the reliability issues I have.
