Running engine with no lights?

I've currently got the front end stripped off my Sv, awaiting fork mods.

I want to strike her up to warm the engine to do an oil and filter change. Before I do, will the diagnostics of the bike pick up on the lights not being fitted and stop me? Don't want to try if a fault code ensues.

Any thoughts?

Re: Quickie !

I'd just drain the oil, don't worry about warming it up, its all in the sump anyway

Diagnostics will not find lights.

But like mavic says there is no reason for it to be warm except to burn fingers.

Yes thats right, but then you've got old oil distributed around the engine which will take its time to completely drain out.

Yes, the cold oil will take a bit longer to drain out, but most of it will be in the sump.

So pays ya money, ya take ya choice, but it matters little whichever method you do.

Just remember to put some oil in it :reaper:

I've read that bit now. Didn't intentionally mean to mis-lead, was a question, I wanted a quick answer
