Full Race Exhaust Suggestions

Hey Everybody, I am new to this forum but have had my queen since 2007. I like to run out to the hills and river valleys on the weekends and have been considering a full exhaust system. Does anyone have suggestions for good systems or things I should be watching out for?

Was there a noticable performace gain with the new system?

Also my queen sees mostly daily street use, is a full race exhaust going to be too loud to live with?

Thanx

If I were you, I would only get a back box (silencer) on the road there's not much to gain from a full system and you'll need a power commender to sort the fuelling etc, so a silencer is best just put it on and away you go, pending on brand you could gain 1 or 2 hp, I personally like the akra hexacones or two brothers.

not necessarily, a remap of the existing ECU can also be done for a fraction of the cost of a PC.

Ok but do you see the point in a full exhaust system on a road bike?

I do, but then its likely a matter of personal preference.

Other benefits include weight saving and the sweet sound of a v-twin revving its nuts off ;-)

I have a Hindle system on a race bike, I probably wouldnt bother on a road bike as much as i would be tempted. I think better to throw the money at suspension components and tyres than a full race system.

The reason I was leaning to a race system is to shave a little weight from her. I am a firm believer that lighter bikes are more fun. Also who doesnt want to hear that motor a little better? Would a full system be too loud on the street?

No, I had a full akra baffleless on my zx6r and it was awesome but did need a pcIII for that, the system was on there when purchased otherwise I wouldn't have bothered as it was £1200.

I do however have twin akras baffleless on mt Tuono and that runs at about 105db on idle.

No both very good exhausts although someone on her mentioned SV's don't gel with Akras?

i really do think that sv`s are light enough as it is on the road, would the extra weight saving really make that much noticeable difference?,on a track yes when every little saving is needed but for everyday riding surely not.as for sound when fitted with a good aftermarket can and compared to the standard i think you will be pleasantly surprised.
just my opinion for what it`s worth.
