Touring and tents

Seeing I have seen a few threads about tents and the up and coming ARTNW I thought I would put it my tent in the Garden.

It is a Vango Spectre 300, with a pack weight of 3 kgs.

I am really impressed with it. I intend to use this in France in September also.

It even has end storage compartments that fit my Givi Luggage Panniers in when removed from the bike.

And best of all it fits easily into my Givi Luggage, so no worries about it blowing off going the Mountain Roads

Does it go up quick dan ?
I'm gonna get another smaller tent for France, one that goes up and down quick and lighter.

Its not super quick to be honest. It pitches outer first and then the inner clips in. Took me about 8 mins and it was the first time I have ever done it.

that looks a cracking tent.

small tents are great unless its raining and you have to take your wet kit off inside them. go try it, kit up in your rain gear then climb inside the tent and strip the kit off. for an even more authentic test wait till its raining then try putting the tent up in the rain with your kit on. that sounds a daft idea, well you might just have to do it when your miles away from home in some foreign country. better being prepared in the eventuality than getting frustrated.

Bollox. You just stuff them in the corner and go to sleep. Deal with it in the morning :p

It's dangerous thinking about everything that can go wrong. Think about it too much and you'll end up touring in a caravan lol

Used my Vango tent for the first time this week, its a 3 man so bigger than yours, massive porch and it will fit in the top box if needed..failing that mine goes on top...

Still, it will keep you dry!

Believe it or not this is a 3 manner, but realistically it would fit 2.
