Idea's on Parking my new SV650S?

Good afternoon all

I thought I would just post this thread up as I really need some different opinions on the best way to park my new SV, you see I have a problem and it used to bug me with my old bike but even more now i have a mint SV.

To get on the market almost 2 years ago I bought a new build flat as it was all I could afford in stinky Reading on my solo wage, now the flat only comes with 1 parking space which luckily is a pretty decent one and right outside my windows I struggle to fit the bike and car in the same space.

I drive a Astra SRI which is not huge but takes up fair amount of space, so when im using the car not the bike i have to squeeze the bike infront the car and when using the bike it goes behind the car like in the pics i have put links to.

My question is other than the most common reply of sell the car if this was where you had to park (for now as looking to move to cornwall) how would you do it?

I do a similar thing in the underground car park where I keep my bike. Although there are places where the car park has been badly designed so as to allow some space between a roof pillar and the edge of another space that basically makes half a car parking space (which obviously isn't alloted to anyone as it's too small) which are a great size for a bike. I used one for a bit, but it was further from the stairs and I felt more comfortable with the bike in the car park space along with the car.

If there's nowhere else nearby you can put it I don't really see any other option? Looks fine where it is though, you still got a couple of foot to the road with them both in there. The only other thing I could think of would be to find someone who doesn't use their space and see if they'll let you use it, maybe for a small fee...

Turn the bike around, buy a chain and use that lamppost I can see in the first few pictures to chain it to!

And get a cover! :)

You don't want you're pride & joy nicked! (touch wood *prods head*)

Cheers for the replys,

The car park has every space allocated and alot of the neighbours have 2 cars so they fight over the curb out in the housing area.

Dont worry there was a chain on it about 10 mins ago before i moved it to take it to work in the morning so i will put it back on.

I feel sad it came from an owner who always kept it garaged and covered and now look at the poor thing.lol

I did consider in the pics if you see my space is next to the rubbish garden area ish and when i moved in i dug up some of the plants infront of my car and well made them vanish ;) shhh so i could park alot further forward, now i did consider in the pics you can see there are plants down the side of the car i thought about digging them up having the bike down the side and just having the foot stand touching the parking space?

only to be told after 9 months its not healing need to operate and well that will screw my walking right back up again maybe for months and months, meaning no biking :(

what about using the grass verge by the brick building in the background? it looks like a substation so dont see any issue about putting the bike beside it

Digging the plants up sounds like a plan to me. Depends how observant your landlord is :)

Thats a push bike shed i did think about trying to get my old bike in there before everyone started storing stuff in there.

Next to the shed on the right is more parking spaces with no gap to the side and to the left there are 2 spaces infont of it so no real space there either which sucks.

I really hate how they biuld new build places charge the earth but you get no space at all, cant wait for the day i can move and finally get a little outside space of my own.lol
