Help fitting R&G crash bars.

Hello everybody:cheers:

I just put the crash bars on my SV650S but I ran into a bit of confusion, the nuts on the engine bar are both nylon ended locking nuts, but when I tighten them up only one nut goes on properly. As when I try and tighten up the other side then the nut on the first side just gets more tightly wound on.

If this makes sense to anybody, please gives us a hand :p

thanks, Si

Re: Help fitting R&G crash bars!!

First ensure you nuts are correct thread. If so start the one that is more difficult to thread on. plce two non locknuts (thin half nuts best) on the other end and lock them together. Thread the locknut up to the correct point. remove the two locknuts and put the second nylock on. If you still find you have trouble, use a little amount of locktite on the first nut, wait a while before screwing on the second nylock. best of luck.

just becareful how much torque you use on them too much and you can damage your frame (so im told)

cheers for the posts, I think I may try some locktight or the likes on it and see if that helps.

I did wonder about the amount of torque and maybe it just wasn't "tight" enough to break through the nylon end yet, but as I don't have a torque wrench yet I'll wait until it comes through the post till I tighten it up properly!

Thanks, Si
