New SV650 owner questions.
 

Hello,
The time has come for me to pick up my sv650 tomorrow and was wondering what they are like on fuel, oil, and coolant
Its a 2008 and has done 16000 miles allso its the sport version

anyone know what they are like roughly

Mine`s all good, get about 120 - 130 miles before the fuel light comes on (thats commuting to work and general riding) not smashing it round. As for the other`s i don`t check them.. JOKE ! Doesn`t use any but i change the oil every 3k. One thing someone will shout about is the 15k service (valve check) has your`s had it done ?

i have no idea, im assuming it has, is this a serious service for the bike

If its from a dealer then you should make sure its done before you pick it up (at their expense).

They consider it to be the 1st biggy, although i`m sure they are only about £100 / £150 max to checked / done if needed.

I believe it covers the checking/adjustment of the valve clearances which is why its more expensive than the earlier services
