Coolant fluids - what & where to get them.

After doing a bit of basic checking and shopping around i thought i would do a seperate thread on this to give back the info to those that do this at some point.

You should be using a 50/50 mix of Distilled water & Ethylene Glycol Anti freeze/coolant (NOT alcohol based anti freeze/coolant)

Asda's for the coolant fluid. Around £3.00
(Check the back of it to make sure its Ethylene Glycol Anti freeze/Coolant in case they change it)

Tesco's for the distilled water they sell it in 1L containers for £1.50

Approx 1.7L is used in the whole system.

Check this thread to see what using 'normal' water does!

Normal water could also corrode the alloy of your engines internal coolant passages, that explains a lot of cases of older cars cracking cylinder heads.

I bought pre-mixed coolant for the bike making sure it was for alloy engines and not alcahol based.
