new dunlops wets, what preasures
Will be tyring out some new dunlop KR389 rear and Kr191 front tyres this weekend at Knockhill on a SV650. Can any one throw some advice to me on what preasures i should be running them hot. Secondly what is the procedure for using tyre warmers on these wet tyres ( how long and how often). And lastly these tyre look and feel very greasy being new, is there a best way to scrub them in?
cheers. |
Re: new dunlops wets, what preasures
From my limited knowledge you run wets at a higher pressure than your track tyres. I believe around the 33f 33r. Actually I think dunlop recommend 33/33 cold.
And normal wisdom with wets is to not use tyre warmers. Apparently this is because you will never keep the tyres warmer than when they come out of the warmers...so grip will always be dropping away from you until you are still pushing hard with less grip. Although this advice was given to me with an eye for track riding..not sure about racing though. No idea about scrubing in I imagine no differently to any other tyre?? Please bear in mind I am no expert, It's just something I have heard from a few people. |
