blue tyre?

after my recent spill my bike has been sat outside my house waiting for repair, and i have noticed that the outside edge of my tyre seems to have gone blue, it looks like the area of tyre that locked up or maybe slid along the road due to the scratches in the rubber. Is this normal or should i be looking at changing the tyre???? it is a dunlop roadsmart tyre and has probably only covered about 500 miles. Has anyone else experienced anything like this??

thanks for that dizzy, i have never noticed it before on any of my tyres so wasn't too sure. It may wear off again when i start riding it again.

I saw something about this in an article pinned to the wall of the tyre place when I got new tyres on the bike, cant remember exactly but think it was something to do with the tyre heating up/cooling down, but nowt to worry about.

Having said this a quick search brings up this:

ive had blueing from getting solvent on them, also from getting them hot on a long run. Ive been told its the "oils" comming out of the rubber and nothing to worry about unless i was tracking them

that makes for interesting reading benji, but surely after just normal road use for so few miles the heat cycle thing shouldn't be causing me a problem, especially as i'm led to believe the dunlops are a dual compound tyre designed for lasting a little longer over more milage?
I bought these tyres for that reason and i wouldn't say i'm a rider that takes my tyres to the limit (in fact far from it compared to others).
