Tail tidy and panniers?
I want to get rid of the snow plough as many do, but when going away with the GF we tend to use panniers on the bike. Does anyone know of a good solution to get around fouling the indicators?
Is it simply a task of fitting mini indicators with the tail tidy or is it more difficult. Ideally I want to stay away from a new undertray with indicators. Was thinking that maybe something like this might work. http://www.motoevolution.co.uk/catal...%20DOCTOIR.jpg |
Re: Tail tidy and panniers?
Depends how far forward/back you mount the panniers and what size/make they are IMO.
Ive got a tail tidy and its a fine balance between being far enough forward to avoid fouling mini indies and far enough back to give our lass enough leg room to the pegs. HTH |
Re: Tail tidy and panniers?
As much as you might not want to, I'd go with the new tray and a wheel hugger. Much more clean than those weird mounting brackets you find on ebay....

Re: Tail tidy and panniers?
You could just get a piece of metal tube and when using panniers, bolt it across behind the indicators, just proud of the widest point. Your panniers can "rest" on the ends.
I used to do that, plus, it gives them something to be fixed to, stops them flapping! Pete ;) |
Re: Tail tidy and panniers?
Thanks for the thoughts chaps. I might get my Dad to machine something at work to solve it, he's pretty clever like that.
