Fieldsheer Leathers

Eyup folks, Just wondering if anyone had had any experience with fieldsheer leathers, theres a guy at work selling an all in one suit for £50 and its a good fit. Just wondering if there garbage or worth a shot.

I guessed this should be in the riding gear section but then it might not have gotten any interest.
Cheers,
Danny

American company with some favourable reviews - for £50 you really cannot lose.

Depends. Fieldsheer used to be popular years ago and was good stuff, as said they are American. Nowadays you can buy a lot of cheap stuff branded FS, seems to be identical stuff. What I was told by one of the shops in Scotland that used to stock Fieldsheer, but now stocks FS, was that the UK importer fell out with the manufacturer, so started getting this identical FS branded stuff manufactured in the far east, and importing that instead. Don't know how true that is, but, despite him talking himself out of a sale when I was buying by wife's gear, he told me if its branded Fieldsheer, it should be OK, if it's branded FS it's cheap tat. Now I will re-stress the caveat because I know what this forum is like, that this was told to me by a motorcycle dealer that stocked Fieldsheer gear, then later FS gear, and could be as accurate as an anecdote in the pub!

What I can tell you is that I had a Fieldsheer branded XP Tour 3 in 1 jacket, that stayed completely waterproof for 20,000 miles, until the coating on the waterproof inset started to break up, and I wore it as the jacket only with all the vents open in 40 degrees heat in Mexico, and I wore it with all three pieces zipped up in -5 in Scotland. For the 80 quid it cost me, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Re: Fieldsheer Leathers

I got an old suit from a fella near me for a track day I was going to. It was a one piece from the 90's (going by the colour scheme - white, dark blue and turquoise :pukel:) but he only wanted £20 for them. They were in good condition for their age and have lasted well. Plenty thick enough. I only had to get some of the stretch panel on one arm restitched but it was a good suit. Haven't worn it since I got a new two piece as I hated wearing the one piece, and looking like a cheap power-ranger.

Mine seem fine & if their weight is owt to go by, should do the deed. Haven't tested their road/cowhide abilities ( yet ) :D

Fieldsheer were quite popular in the 90`s , they had some wild colour schemes , remember the "Worms" scheme anyone ? . They were ok and if it fits and is £50 then I don`t see the harm in them , I`d rather put £50 on these than some no-name cackola off eBay . May need treating a bit though depending on how ld the leather is and what condition it is in .
