Bloody TT, bloody MOT, cocked it up again

You would think I would have learned by now.

MOT due in 3 weeks, phoned my tame man. No answer, So today phones his mobile.

You idiot Tim, I am on the island.

Why do I keep forgetting to get the MOT done before the TT. Well it aint my fault. It is the fool who first got the bike MOTed, I just keep to the original date and keep forgetting my man is away this time every year.

Had a double MOT this week Tim, I always forget the main family car needs MOT'ing as it coinsides with the tax running out, but I'd forgotten, so had to ring the garage ASAP.

Checked the bike MOT and that had run out on the 5th May

Luckily my garage is staffed by more than one bloke

I have time, when he gets back I will have a few days.

It is just I like my tame tester. There is nothing wrong with my bike. He would fail a dangerous bike and I have seen him do it. It is just I trust him. He does not mess me about, and despite the fact I haven't got one, considers a loud can an essential safety feature. We have a good relationship, if I said I will get it sorted (never had to) he knows I would.

There is only one fault with my tame tester. an MOT can take over an hour. 5 minutes testing 60 minutes gassing.

Nobody should let Wilky out unless he is accompanied by a responsible adult;)

Oi DT. there is a house across the road from me occupied by 4 very nice young men and their carers. Do you mean I can flit across the road. Have my dinner cooked for me. My dobie done and returned to my room and even taken out for a pint?

My bad timing. I admit it I know my tester always pops over the water this time of year. Normally I get him just before he goes. I am just paranoid I like to get the test done early just in case there is an issue (never is) and then I need to remember to go back with the readies (old age I forget to pay him). It is just inconvenient what gives him the right to go off enjoying himself every June. I have to suffer at home with the wife. Why cannot he. (he can even have my wife if his doesnt make him suffer)

I know exaclty the type of tame tester you refer too. Mines the same, I'd rather cycle to work for a few days if my MOT lapsed than I would take it elsewhere.
TBH you thinking about an MOT 3 weeks before the current one expires is about 3weeks in advance of when I'd think about it.

Never been one to teach my gran how to suck eggs, but:
" A MOT test can be taken up to a month before the due date and if the old certificate, or registration document in the case of the first MOT, is presented at the test, the certificate will be issued from the due date rather than the earlier test date. "
Or: " Don't forget your MOT, use our MOT email reminder service to receive a email reminder in plenty of time to arrange your MOT. ";)
