1mm forks size differance can owt be done?
 
sv 1000 fork size 46mm
forks im looking at 45mm
now im no enginqueer but is this in the relms of being able to be done by widing the pinch slit on the yoke and tighting it more
begin the abuse

Dave, think about it, You are starting with a rattle fit and as you stress the yokes to clamp it you will only be contacting the forks at two points and then bending the yoke round the rest of the fork. Asking for trouble, I would not think them stable

Hi DAVE, the correct method is to use some "shim material" and not put excess strain on the Yokes?? perhaps YC has some shim stock if not I will have a look through what I have if it helps.

Shimming would help. Personal opinion is it is a compromise. I would always be thinking that it is an extra interface that could let go

why what are you planning and why?

No don't do it except with shim. Cast ally is not great for flexing.

45 - 46mm diameter is only 1mm difference so sounds possible.

However, over the circumference of the fork / yoke contact patch that works out to be over 3mm of difference (Pi*46 - Pi*45)

That's a lot of stretch.

I'd be after something that fits, or a suitable way of making up the difference :)

Shim will be fine as long as it's accurately sized.
