Sv650 wiring fault = lights

Hi all first i will say hello as i am new to this site.
just got back onto a bike after nearly a year after my crash a year ago on my r1.
so i picked myself up an 99 curvy sv650s with a nice few extras renagade system and so on.
needs a few parts ie the front cam chain tensioner aprt from that its all good, well apart from this week i have encountered a wiring fault.

ok it started sunday on my ride home in the wet stopped on the side of the road and found i had no front parking light,no rear tail lights and no dash lights, but i have headlights and braake lights.
also if i put the key into park they all work.

they have been coming on and off all week.
anyone have any ideas it would be a great help.

Hi Andy, welcome to the org.

It sounds like the rain is shorting something.
Any dodgy looking seals?

Sounds like the signal fuse (fuse 4 / 15A) blown
Headlights on a separate circuit, parking lights switch does not go via that fuse (according to the wiring diagram anyway)

Have a look at the light switch on the handlebar itself andy, got on mine one night a few years back and found I had lost the dash lights and tail light but the rest worked, flicking the switch off/on twice got me home then I cleaned and sprayed it with contact cleaner, no problem since. Also had some charging issues that went away after the connections were all cleaned one by one.

Not had any luck yet, checked the fuses they are all fine. had a quick look at the switchgear sat could not see any rust or furring tho. going to have a better look friday take the tank and panels off and check all connectors.
