Which Alarm?

Opinions and reviews please folks..

Looking at fitting an alarm to the SV with easy fitting / value for money in mind.. i.e. I'd maybe like a couple of Gucci extras (prox sensors for example) but I dont need the bike to ride a theif back to my house in handcuffs in the event of a theft.. just a wooOOooOOooOO will do, maybe a meep-meep when setting.. :safe:

ThankyouMuch!

Got a DataTool 3 on mine. Don't get one it's a pain in the arris when you're trying to work on the bike. I find it difficult to get it into sleep mode and when I do it just sits there chirruping away getting right in yer t1ts usually about 3" from your lugs whist you're working.

Alarmed disc lock, alarms on bike are a PITA.

+2 from me. My remote key fob the my Meta alarm/immobiliser died on a track day at Brands and I missed 2 sessions because of it. Had to do the dance of the flashing LED to input a PIN to unlock it every time i wanted to start the bike.

I've got a Meta system which works great and the insurance companies seem to like it (it also does the meep-meep thing!). I do change the battery in the fob every 3 months just to save getting stranded though.

Spare batteries don't help when the transmitter is goosed but yes you will get slightly lower premiums from insurance.

Which is nice.

Re: Which Alarm?

The drop in premiums is peanuts and the potential grief from them is not worth the saving.

+ another one for the alarmed disc lock instead.
