new to the forum, fuel economy

hi there everyone,
im new to this forum been recommend by a friend.
i have a sv650sk3 04 FI which is restricted by the intake and throttle bodies, it has a k&n filter element and non standard end can exhaust.

ever since i had the air filter and exhaust changed i managed to get about 5 miles more per tank on average

but i hear people say about the fuel light flashing, mine doesnt but should it as i dont no if its new one that do,

and im doing on a good day 110 miles before the light comes on and i have had it run out of fuel twice at 130 miles and 145 miles and to me this is very poor fuel economy, what should it be doing on average? as its a 17 litre tank

hope someone can help, would be much appreciated :) thanks

It could be the restriction and you simply using the throttle in an on/off way. Sally had a similar problem with his k3:

yes mine is restricted with an FI international, guess thats the problem :( take back to the shop and see about getting them to put it to an ecu but the thing is when i ride with other bikers they have to ask is it restricted cause its copes with the restriction so well :/
