MOD1 Tomorrow, not as confident as i thought

Got my mod 1 tomorrow, after doing an afternoons worth of training on a cb500 I'm not as confident as I thought. I'm used to the light 125 and I'm finding it heavy, even heavier it seems than my sv which I've riden a few times. About 25% of the time I keep putting my foot down on the u turn, every other manouver is fine. I also took a gamble and booked the mod 2 on Thursday, so if I fail il loose the money for mod 2. Any tips?
On a brighter note I got my right peg down on the 125 practicing on a car park lol.

Relax.
Remember your observations.
Don't put you foot down on the u-turn.
Goof luck.

You'll be fine. Don't let the nerves take over. Good luck.

they aint there to fail you, just to see if you have the control required. The test centres are lovely and smooth with tarmac like rubber so u grip well. If you can do it in training you will do it tomoz. All the best :) Are u at Bredbury?

Remember to look where you want to go! Most of the time when I messed up the U-turns it was because I got nervous and looked at the front of the bike. My instructor drilled this out of me by walking round in circles and getting me to follow him, using him as my reference of where I wanted to go. It got to the point where I had the steering on full lock going round in circles. Passed my mod 1 no probs (and later my mod 2).

Good luck! :)

The 500 is definitely not heavier than your SV :-P so get your noddle in gear and you'll fly through! Weight is not an issue once you're on the move, you're just panicking a bit, I was the same (not about the Uturn mind, more about the slalom!). Also bear in mind that when you practice a manouevre over and over again you're bound to do too much of a good thing and you'll mess it up. Try it 2 or 3 times then move onto something else, then come back to it. I used to find if I tried to do something more than 3 times I'd just progressively get crapper at it through overthinking it.

Sorry for waffling, best of luck today and although it feels it, it is really not the end of the world if you fail.

Wee tip for the U Turn - plenty of revs, plenty of back brake and plenty o' clutch slip/control will keep it all nice and stable.

Good luck, relax and you'll be fine.

That's why I can't play golf.

You could be so nervous you make yourself sick before you start, but once you start you'll be fine, you'll be concentrating on what you are doing too much to let the nerves get in the way. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
