Touring equipment / loading tips?

Seeing how a few people have been on a few already i thought i would start a thread on this so people could post some example pics/tips. Ive got my eyes on building up some kit to be able to do this. Looking at pics and when im out it looks to be a bit of art to doing it efficiently. ive got myself so protective matting and bungees for the rear and i am looking at luggage just now.

Eg. Good /small tents, cooking equipment, sleeping gear, things to leave/take, loading tips.

Can you still have a pillion with that set up Dan?

Luggage, I use soft luggage, and I just try to keep the weight as low and as central as possible.

Yeah no problem. I have just looked at the photo and the side boxes look further forward than they actually are. A pillion would be no problem.

The photo is just too dark on my screen to see if you have a pillion seat, seat cowl or pannier frames on there, that's all.

Is that a Givi set up? How much?

I have an aftermarket GP hump on there, but the seat goes on fine.

It is all givi, with top of the range boxes, so £600 new.

However (before you reach for the Whiskey again) it can be done for about £350 with different boxes or the full kits second hand go for about £200. Chandler93 bought a set from this forum that he took to the ARTNW.

Hi & welcome to the forum. A man to my own heart. I'm a tight wad & used this set up last year for the isle of man. Using similar this year, but have a Renntec rack as I have a pillion to take now as well :)

I love my baby, not much left to do to her until she is perfect. Anyone got a spare GSXR front end and shock they could swap for a box of Jaffa cakes! :offtopic:
