how loud is 105db
looking at track days and they all have various noise limits, but now loud is an sv650 with a race can? mines just a cut system with an art race can, clearly stamped not for road use, what sort of db levels to these bikes put out?

Re: how loud is 105db
You'll be fine.
And in answer to your question to the human ear 105db is twice as loud as 99db ;) |
My pointy with a fuel stubby can at 3/4 revs was 99db with baffles in at Combe. Not sure if that helps ya much but might give you an idea.

Re: how loud is 105db
You'll be alright.
A full Arkapovic system with stubby is around 110dB A custom Hindle system (built for the track) was clocked at 104.5 in the afternoon and 94 in the evening 105dB is roughly what a night club will be playing music at |
Re: how loud is 105db
how i do hate the fact that decibels arent on a nice gradient but more steps up to the next decibel.

Re: how loud is 105db
thanks guys

Re: how loud is 105db
Aye decibels are on a logarithmic scale I think. Every 3db is a doubling of the perceived volume from what i remember.

6-10db (depending on air temp/humidity) is a doubling of perceived volume. |
Re: how loud is 105db
ah see, amazing what you learn on this site.

Re: how loud is 105db
its very hard to gauge by ear. Only way to do it properly is with a noise meter.
