CBR600F Idle/throttle issues
I have a mates cbr at home while he's away in usa and it has a problem. The choke has to be fully on to start, which is normal, but it only idles a 2000 rpm but the slightest movement into the choke off position, cuts the engine out. Also with it idling with choke fully on, the slightest throttle movement also cuts the engine out. It revs fine and rides fine in the higher revs, but soon as you depress the clutch and downshift, it cuts out. The battery could probably do with a charge/replacing, but thats all I can think of. There's an idle screw somewhere on the cbr... dunno if thats worth adjusting.... God bless injectors!! Any ideas/input appreciated.

siezed choke plungers and low idle by the sounds of it.
Also give the battery a boost and give it a good run out |
Re: CBR600F Idle/throttle issues
Thanks for reply. I warmed it up earlier, then revved it quite high, then the revs drop and again, just cuts out. If I quickly wrap the throttle back, its almost "misses" before it picks up. I have to very gently move the throttle for it to pick up. Still your diagnosis?

Just thought. It was fine before I washed the bike....!? Water in the carbs?

Re: CBR600F Idle/throttle issues
wet plugs is more probable.
Check them all (gap and clean them too) and silicone grease around the plugs |
