Who is the Essex Lounge?

Following the comments fom the AR “Do we don't we” thread. “the small group who meet on Fridays”

I joined the site & community 8 years ago back when the Moderater was elected by the forum community of the Essex section. From that day we used to meet weekly at Battlesbridge and go for rideouts on Sundays. There was always a good turnout of 10+ members turning up for a good laugh/ride.

Over the years we had some members move on to other bikes and join other forums etc. but we still meet at Battlesbridge and organise rideouts for Sundays with a good turnout.

Now we have self elected Moderators who hardly ever turn up on a weekly meet or Sunday rideouts.
So my question is: Who is the Essex Lounge?

The people who make an effort to meet weekly and met even long before I joined 8 years ago And bother to organise rideouts on weekends.

Or some certain individuals with moderating privileges who never turn up on weekly meets or rideouts.

I don’t expect this to stay up long before it gets deleted

I have noticed there is a bit of a north south devidie in were the Essex members meet up.
But also there are others who have commitments that stop them getting out in the evenings (like kid's).
But they still use there bikes and get allot good info from the "org".

shows character as it is that certain individual who keeps picking on "the small group that meets up on fridays" OBVIOUSLY IT'S NOT RESOLVED.

As for as the divide is concerned I try to go to both but it is not always possible due to other commitments, reason I am some times in a car when I attend rather than the bike.

As I already had a pm.

just to clarify with self elected: Being "friends" with the site owners and or going to their weekly meets rather than the essex lounge meet.

The moderator on here used to be voted for by the rest of the community members and attended weekly meets ie was part of the actual community that meet up.

As with the north/south divide. As we have new members now from other locations a more central venue is more than welcome.

Personally I'd say that was a fairly accurate statement as the last few times I've been out on a Fri to The Hawk there have only been 2 or 3 others there.

Also, you might have missed the winking 'smiley' at the end of the post in question?

Whilst I don't see any problem with the original idea of your initial post ie "Who is the Essex Lounge" - it could turn out to be quite an interesting 'discussion' - if you (and anyone else come to that) are going to turn it into a bash-fest then it will be deleted pretty quickly.

Added following your latest post - seeing as you obviously don't want to PM me in return I'll take issue with your statements publicly :-

1) I have never met the site owner nor spoken to them about becoming a Mod. I get the impression that you believe someone within the Soho section owns the site? WRONG !

2) I've been a member of this site for 6 years now and Mods have never been voted for in my time by the regional members - well I was never asked to vote anyway !!

3) The issue of location has always been a topic for discussion as has the frequency of meets. There is no reason why you shouldn't find & suggest a different location to those we currently use - some will like it others won't - not a problem.

Interesting.

I don't know of any mod of this section who goes to the owners weekly meets.

I don't know that a mod of any section was ever voted for (but I may be wrong on this)

And it has been made clear in the past that so-called rideouts are NOT for all people in the Essex section.
I have organised rides for the section before, as has Supervox. They have been attended by people who live in Essex

I think the Essex Lounge is, rather like many other regional sections, a motely crew of all sorts of people with all sorts of lives and commitments. As in other aspects of live, you get on with some people and not with others. I just don't get why people come into threads (or indeed start them ) just to moan. SidSquid's mum had some good advise for people like that

There is nothing stopping anyone from posting a ride out or taging on one of the other bike meet ride outs.
I know our local 8ball lot generally have a blat out Sundays .
Personaly I can't keep with R1's or Gixer's so not been .
