Bike/Shed Security
Wanting to bring the bike from my folks nice and secure garage to the oh not so brilliant wooden shed (rented property).
Apart from things like disclocks etc, what outer locks, chains do people recommend? Thanks Si |
Re: Bike/Shed Security
Ground anchor and almax. Or put it in front room.

Well I think the no pets/dual minuguns wih rocket launcher clause in the rental agreement put a spanner in the works for the last two, front room sounds promising though.

Re: Bike/Shed Security
How far is the shed from the house. A really simple alarm is to run a doorbell wire from the shed into the house so that the buzzer sounds indoors if the shed door is opened (one of those DIY car bonnet alarm switches on the shed door). Has the added bonus that you don't alert the thief so you can catch them in the act.....

Re: Bike/Shed Security
Thats a good idea, shed's only a metre or so away, might try a wireless system so there's no danger of them chopping the wire. Cheers pal.

A nice bright outside light with a PIR sensor will scare people off too. Just set it right so not every cat, fox , hedgehog etc sets it off.

Re: Bike/Shed Security
I don't have a shed for mine, however, I keep it down the side of the house, chained to a ground anchor, with a disc lock on the front, and another chain on the rear, also got a heavy duty gate that cuts off the side of the house, a heavy duty gate at the end of the garden, and the alley-ways are gated too.
Oh and I have a Meta M357TV2 alarm/immobiliser fitted. If someone wants to steal my bike then they can try however I will try my best to make it very VERY awkward for them. :D |
